RCMP in the southern Okanagan province say a prominent figure in the local wine industry sexually assaulted a Mexican migrant worker in his employ, and are searching for more potential victims.
“Investigators believe there may be additional victims or witnesses and are encouraging them to come forward,” said B.C. RCMP spokesperson Corporal. James Grundy said in a news release Friday.

“Given the seriousness of this allegation and the potential for additional victims, police are reaching out to the community to speak to those who have not yet come forward,” Mr Grundy said. “If you have been affected or have any information, please contact us.”
South Okanagan RCMP recognizes there may be a language barrier and has Spanish-speaking personnel available.
No further details were being released, Grundy said.
If you are a potential victim or have information, please call the Oliver Detachment at 250-498-3422.
