The 2024 Super Bowl drew more than 123 million viewers, making it the most-watched television event in history. Many eyes were on Taylor Swift as she traveled from Tokyo to Las Vegas on a private jet while undergoing strict inspections.
Last week, Swift threatened legal action against a Florida student who was tracking the jet travel of the rich and famous.
But pop stars weren't the only ones taking exclusive air travel that weekend. A total of 882 commercial aircraft flew into Las Vegas during and immediately before Super Bowl Sunday.
The pandemic has had a huge impact on widening the country's wealth gap. The rich have gotten richer and their carbon footprint has increased. According to one report, the world's richest 10% account for 50% of global emissions through investments and personal consumption.
