Luke Evans
More of a homecoming than a visit, Welsh-born Hollywood star Luke Evans was spotted enjoying a meal at 1832 in Porthcawl, with 1832 posting on their Facebook page: “So excited to have Luke Evans at @1832porthcawl today! #hollywoodinporthcawl #eighteenthirtytwo #staff.”
Susan Kalman
Comedian Susan Cullum has been enjoying the fun of filming on Barry Island for her new show for Channel 5. She posted a video to her Instagram saying: “Filming in Barry Island. Safe to say we're having a great time.” For the latest TV and entertainment news, sign up for our newsletter.
Jason Manford
Another comedian, Jason Manford, also loved visiting Wales, but this time on holiday. Jason is familiar with Wales, having been there before, and this time he raved about Silver Bay on the island of Anglesey.
He posted on Instagram: “Beautiful Welsh evening in Silver Bay with the kids. But the water was very cold.”
Prince William
Now, on to the royal story: Prince William, the Prince of Wales, was spotted in Wales in 2024. Prince William was visiting Cardiff Metropolitan University, where his charity The Earthshot Prize and Wales' Future Generations Commissioner were hosting an event celebrating Wales' seaweed industry. In 2024, YouTuber Calfreezy (real name Calum Airlie) was spotted in Ebbw Vale, believed to have been filming in the area.
Alex Jones
Welsh presenter Alex Jones is no stranger to Wales. The One Show star, who is originally from Amherford, frequently visits different parts of Wales throughout the year and in May gave rave reviews for a roast dinner at a pub in the Gower. She and her family, husband Charlie Thomson and children Teddy, Kit and Annie, enjoyed a delicious roast dinner at the King Arthur pub in Reynoldston.
Alex posted a picture of the roast dinner on his Instagram story, writing: “Fantastic Sunday lunch at @kingarthurhotel. Hearty and delicious!!!!” You can read more about it here.

Loose Women presenter Stacey Solomon will be visiting Wales for work in 2024. She filmed an episode of Sort Your Life Out in Wales in May and said: “I'm in Wales today with my family. We're back filming Sort Your Life Out and I'm really looking forward to it. It's series five.”
Gethin Jones
Welsh TV presenter Gethin Jones is no stranger to returning to his hometown, and he praised Welsh rugby player George North's cafe after spending the perfect May bank holiday weekend enjoying the “simple things” with friends.

Hollywood star Tom Hardy and his adorable French bulldog Blue enjoyed a trip to Pen y Fan in May 2024. Tom captioned the photo: “Blue is [Fan] Wet and cold, #dogsdo #bestoffriends #teams #nodripormoan. Thank you for always being my little big wingman.”
Greg James
Radio presenter Greg James was in Wales for a very special reason: he gifted the couple tickets to the Brit Awards, babysat their seven-year-old daughter Maisie, and traveled with them to Swansea.
He washed the dishes, went to the park with Maisie, played with her Barbie dolls, got her nails painted, and ended the day with Chinese food while watching the England game on TV. Read more here.

Another radio presenter to visit Wales is Jordan North, who made a local visit to Capital South Wales in Cardiff when he moved from BBC Radio One to Capital FM and revealed to Drive presenters Josh and Jess that he has a strong connection to Wales.
Ms Jordan said: “My grandfather Gwyn is from Maesteg, near Bridgend, and my aunt said recently she believes we may have a relative of George North, so if anyone from George North's family is listening please get in touch – we need to get this resolved.”
Liam Reardon and Millie Court
Love Island winner Liam Reardon lives in Wales, so it's no surprise that his girlfriend Millie Court visits regularly – and they've been raving about the Haystack Cafe in Liam's hometown of Merthyr Tydfil.
Liam posted a picture of pancakes, eggs and beans on toast, writing: “Oops I underestimated the portions but they tasted amazing! @haystackcafe it's in the Mercer so check it out if you're curious.”
Carol Vorderman and Sally Lindsay
If anyone throws glitzy, fabulous parties packed with celebrity friends, it's Welsh Radio 2 presenter and weather forecaster Owain Wyn Evans. Owain Wyn Evans lives in Penarth, and threw a glamorous, celebrity-filled party in Cardiff to celebrate his 40th birthday.
A video shared by party-loving singer Ian H Watkins showed a host of familiar faces celebrating with Owain, including Carol Vorderman and Madame Blanc star Sally Lindsay, who were photographed alongside Owain's family and friends.
Andy Serkis
Andy Serkis, known worldwide for his role as Gollum in The Lord of the Rings film trilogy, visited Koffi Koh at Mermaid Quay. Kofi Koh posted on Instagram, as Serkis posed for photos with staff, saying: “We have some lovely little guests at Koffi Koh Mermaid Quay today – Lord of the Rings fans.” It is unclear why Andy was in Cardiff, but Cardiff Castle was closed for filming on Friday 22 March, and just a few days later Andy was spotted in Cardiff Bay. Katherine Jenkins, Amy Wadge, Hugh Stevens, Louis Rees-Zammit
What would bring Katherine Jenkins, Amy Wadge, Huw Stevens, and Louis Rees-Zammit all together in the same room? Taylor Swift, of course. All four celebrities were spotted enjoying a Taylor Swift concert when the singer brought her Eraser tour to Cardiff in June.
Gordon Ramsay
Gordon Ramsay came to Wales to enjoy some sun and created something quite unusual and divisive: a Full English Breakfast Pizza. The TV chef created it in Portmeirion using a mobile pizza unit from Cardiff-based Pizza Boys, which has also appeared on the BBC show. Find out more here.
Amy Dowden and Sarah Davis
Best friends Amy Dowden, the Welsh pro dancer from “Strictly Come Dancing,” and “Dragon's Den” star Sarah Davies hiked in Wales to raise money for the charity Coppafeel, a charity that is especially close to her heart as Amy was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2023.
The trek took place in Bannow Brycheiniog and was led by Giovanna Fletcher and team captains Amy Dowden, Harry Judd, Faye Winter and Candice Brown. More details can be found here.

Katie Price made an appearance at a bar and nightclub in Wales to publicly announce her relationship with new boyfriend JJ Slater. The 45-year-old media personality and her 31-year-old businessman boyfriend JJ, who many know from appearing on Married at First Sight last year, attended the event at The Arch bar and nightclub in Neath on Saturday, February 24. Oscar-nominated star and film legend Willem Dafoe was spotted dining at a restaurant in Cardiff and liked it so much he returned two nights in a row. The actor, who played the Green Goblin in Spider-Man, visited Cardiff chain restaurant Mowgli. You can read more about it here.
