- Swift has released four of her six re-recorded albums to date.
Taylor Swift loves to keep her fans guessing.
After the 2024 Olympics kicked off in Paris on Friday, Swift's social media shared an Olympics advertisement featuring one of the songs from her album, “Reputation.”
Swift fans have been waiting for “Reputation (Taylor Version)” for months and believe the Olympics ad is a Reputation Easter egg. Swift has been re-releasing new versions of older albums under her own name in recent years, breaking music industry records in the process.
Swift fans got a big surprise when they saw the ad and heard the beat of the song and Swift's famous lyrics, “Are you ready? Baby, let's start the game, let's start the game!”
The lyrics are taken from “…Ready For It?”, the first track on her 2017 album, “Reputation.”
The Olympic ads, which ran on both NBC Olympics and Swift's social media, include inspirational interviews with Team USA.
“I'm so ready to scream at the TV and cheer on these athletes,” Swift wrote in an Instagram Story sharing the ad.
“I thought this was a Rep TV announcement,” one fan commented on Instagram, the promotional account for Taylor Nation.
“Well, that doesn't do our clowning any favors,” said another.
Swift Fans are excited about the new album, which, like the other re-recorded albums, is set to feature previously unreleased bonus tracks.
After releasing four of her six re-recorded albums, fans assumed Swift would release “Reputation (Taylor's Version)” when she showed up to the 2024 Grammy Awards in February in a black and white outfit, the signature color scheme of the long-awaited album. Instead, she announced a new double album, “The Tortured Poets Department.”
The new Olympics ad marks the second time Swift's song, “…Ready For It?” has been used in connection with the Olympics. Simone Biles, the all-time leading gymnast with the most medals of all time, uses a snippet of “…Ready For It?” in her floor exercise. When NBC Olympics posted a video of Biles' floor exercise in June, Swift responded to Biles, saying, “I've watched it so many times, and I'm not ready. But she's ready.”
