It's not just the audience that is tired of explicit sex scenes and nudity. Many celebrities are now speaking out against the nudity culture in movies. Here are just a few of the celebrities who have spoken out in interviews against the need for explicit nudity in movies, or have included “no nudity clauses” in their contracts, fighting back against the orgies and soft porn that studios want to produce for them:
Henry Cavill
Superman said that sex scenes are vulgar in a recent interview to promote his film. ArgyleCavill agreed with director Matthew Vaughn that he's uncomfortable filming sex scenes. “It's like, 'Take your clothes off and get in bed.' Is that acting? I think it is,” Cavill added. “There are times when sex scenes can actually be beneficial to the film, but I think they've been overdone lately. I think it's when you start to feel like, is it really necessary or is it just because they're not wearing clothes?” Cavill later added that he's “not a fan” of sex scenes, and made it clear that he has no plans to do any extensive nudity anytime soon.
Victoria Justice
Cavill isn't the only one who finds sex scenes uncomfortable. victory Star Victoria Justice had to film a sex scene on the first day of filming. Falland she wasn't happy about it. “I think people think that filming a sex scene or an intimate scene is super sexy, and it's not,” Justice explained. “It's honestly just uncomfortable, and there's a bunch of strange men in the room, breathing and looking at you.” Though Justice felt that her director helped her pull off the scene with “flair,” she was left with questions: “Did I make the wrong choice? I don't know if I should be doing this.”
Minka Kelly
EuphoriaLike other HBO shows, it is known for its pornographic nudity. But when Minka Kelly guest-starred, Euphoria One scene had her removing her dress, but she felt it was unnecessary: ”It was my first day as a guest on a new show, and I didn't feel comfortable standing there naked,” Kelly said. Vanity Fair“I said, 'I'd love to do this scene, but I think it would be better if I kept the dress on.'”
Neal McDonough
There's a reason McDonough is often cast as the bad guy in movies, and he thinks it has to do with his stance on sex scenes: “Sex scenes aren't for me. And there are enough sex scenes out there, and I'm in my 50s, and I don't know if anybody wants to watch that, but it's a relief. I'm just not very comfortable doing that sort of thing.” Not only has McDonough turned down sex scenes, which has cost him Hollywood roles, but he also refuses to kiss any women other than his wife.
Julia Roberts
Julia Roberts may seem to have done it all in her 35-year, Oscar-winning acting career, but excessive nudity isn't one of them. “I don't mean to criticize other people's choices, but for me, it's a choice I've made myself not to take off my clothes or to be physically vulnerable in my movies,” Roberts said in a recent interview. Roberts' nudity rules have led to the use of body doubles in her previous films, and many of her film scenes are tailored to her standards. In 2009, she reportedly performed an explicit sex scene in “The Movie.” duplicity “It's not something I actually do, so if you ask me to do it, you have to be prepared to keep it low-key. As a mother of three kids, that's how I feel,” she said.
Penn Badgley
Badgley married Domino Kirke in 2017, which led him to have different thoughts about the content of the hit Netflix show. youDuring production of season 4, Badgley asked Sera Gamble if it would be OK to do the new season without any sex scenes: “I asked Sera Gamble. [the] “The producers said to me, 'Can we not do any more intimate scenes?'” Badgley explained in a podcast interview. “Fidelity in any relationship, especially in marriage, is important to me. [I thought]”'I don't want to do that.'”
Sarah Jessica Parker
She could be a star Sex and the CityBut in real life, Sarah Jessica Parker has long battled with nudity in her career. Parker's contracts have always had a “no nudity” clause, but not everyone was willing to respect her wishes. On one project, Parker recalled being pressured to the point of tears to get naked on camera. “They were like, 'Sarah Jessica is going to be nude tomorrow,' and I was like, 'I'm not going to be nude.'” Despite Hollywood's pressure to be more revealing, Parker is grateful for the support she received from people like her agent, saying, “My agent sent a car and a plane ticket for me.” [to the film set] And he said, “If someone makes you do something you don't want to do, then you shouldn't do it.”
Jessica Alba
Jessica Alba has had plenty of bad experiences filming sex scenes, but she's not glamorizing them. “It's usually gross because it's usually a stranger,” Alba said in a 2019 interview about filming sex scenes. She added, “When you choose to be with someone that way, it's very intimate. It's like you're breathing on someone.” Alba also has a “no nudity” clause in her contract, saying, “I don't want my grandparents to see my breasts. That's it. And if you look at any movie I've been in, being naked doesn't 'upgrade' the movie.”

Rolling Stone“Love scenes? I hate it. I hate it, hate it, hate it. It's so uncomfortable. Maybe we're just kissing in public. Allison Williams

But Williams refused. “I was like, 'Uh, I'm not gonna sign it,' and my agent was like, 'What?' 'Please tell me you're not gonna sign it.'”
