Social Security reduces risk because the rich don't pay their fair share
I mean, a lot of people enjoy Donald Trump because he's so outspoken. Now, he recently suggested that he would cut so-called entitlements for Social Security and Medicare (I know his campaign staff went after him and cleaned up by saying they wouldn't cut Social Security or Medicare). .They do a lot of cleaning up for him). We/you/I paid for them. If you don't believe me, check your pay stub. Why won't it become a solvent years from now? Because the rich don't pay their fair share. The wealthy man takes days or weeks each New Year to pay off his “share” because out of the millions of dollars he earns, he only has to pay $168,600. The average American pays year-round, and we all pay our fair share. The wealthy do not pay their fair share. If so, those programs will remain unresolved for a long time. There is only one party that is trying to make the rich pay their fair share, and it is not Mr. Trump's party. Why do people vote for people who are against their interests?

Israeli behavior is held to a higher standard
Why is Israel consistently held to higher moral standards than the rest of the world? There is no country on earth that would not do everything in its power to destroy the invaders who murdered, raped, and kidnapped hundreds of its citizens. Probably. OK for all other countries. Not for Israel, of course.
Reckless UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres calls for an immediate ceasefire. Would he have reacted the same way if his family had been brutally murdered on October 7th? Not likely.

The new RNC leader is a real RINO
Trumpites recently took control of the Republican National Committee and fired at least 60 key employees, who will no doubt be replaced by supporters of the self-styled Day 1 dictator. The term “RINO,” meaning Republican Party in Name Only, should henceforth apply to the party's leaders.

As Easter approaches, let's remember Jesus' journey
As we prepare for the coming holiest day for Christians, the celebration of Easter, the Resurrection of the Lord, are we really preparing our hearts?
Let us consider together the significance of this holy day and the events that culminate in the Resurrection.
There was the Hold of Holy Week (or Maundy Thursday) when our Lord celebrated the Last Supper with His disciples, and then there was Good Friday, when Jesus was crucified and died on the cross for our sins. Three days later, He rose victorious for all mankind. We may live forever with Him.
Yes, we keep the traditional customs of the day, such as Easter baskets filled with delicious chocolate bunnies, egg hunts, and festive decorations in the house. Beyond all these traditions, may our true focus as adults be on the Lamb of God (and not the Rabbit). He has risen.

There are enough gas stations/convenience stores in the Lehigh Valley.
You don't have to travel far in the Lehigh Valley before passing by Wawa or Sheetz. I don't have exact numbers on hand, but I think it's probably as frequent as McDonald's restaurants. Now, it looks like Mr. Rutter wants to jump into the pool, too. The question is, do we really need a rutter? How long until Love's and Flying J throw their hats into the ring? Let's also remember that Royal Farms has flirted with Valley. There are plenty of places to buy gas, cigarettes, hot meals, lottery tickets, and coffee at any time of the day or night. Do whatever you want. Leave the land alone.

NIZ audit brings much-needed transparency
I commend Sen. Jarrett Coleman's efforts to lift the veil of secrecy and bring much-needed transparency regarding Allentown's Neighborhood Improvement District.
When then-Senator Pat Brown established the NIZ in 2009, he took deliberate and specific steps to seal and withhold internal financial information from the taxpayers funding its development. Ta.
Mr. Brown has consistently worked to protect the beneficiaries of the legislation he authored, amending the Finance Act in 2021 after The Morning Call requested specific tax information about beneficiaries. . Ask yourself if these efforts are causing suspicion or mistrust. I'm sure of that. Add to that the recent shady (what a big deal) purchase of the Allentown State Hospital property by Center City Investment Corp., which Brown brokered after losing the 2022 primary.
Good luck, Senator Coleman. In the midst of such a sad special interest political climate, it is people like you, Pennsylvania Spotlight, and other watchdog groups that give us ordinary citizens a sense of hope.

Urges MPs to oppose destruction of Gaza Strip
European Union foreign policy chief Josep Borrell recently said that the Israeli government uses hunger as a weapon of war (an international crime), denying and blocking food aid for months while children go hungry. declared. As a people who have been through so much in their history (including the horrific crime of killing civilians on October 7th), there is no doubt that they are putting Gaza's civilians through hell.
We pay for the weapons Israel uses in Gaza, so I have been calling my local congressman and two senators every day to speak out against this growing misery. We will also help pay for any possible “recovery” there.
Thinking about the children…

Read to those who violate their oath of office.
Let's just ask one simple question. All politicians, soldiers, and police officers take an oath of office. The Fourteenth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution clearly states that anyone who betrays their oath of office should be removed from office. I encourage everyone to read the official oath of office and deeply understand its words. Here's one quick question. Q: Why shouldn't we remove people who violate or betray their oaths of office?
