As an industry leader in healthcare equipment and supplies, the company received the highest possible scores in all three key areas, including economic, social and environmental performance. This marks the 15th company Abbott has been named in 2015.Number Abbott was recognized for sustainability by being included in the DJSI, which includes both the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index and the North American Index.

Abbott's overall score of 85 was more than double the average score of 34 for other companies in the Medical Equipment & Supplies industry sector. In social performance, Abbott received the highest scores in social reporting, workforce development, corporate citizenship and philanthropy, occupational health and safety, and contributions to health outcomes. In environmental performance, Abbott received the highest scores in environmental reporting and operational eco-efficiency.
