update: Fresh off an incredibly successful run into the NBA's free agency period, agent Rich Paul is gearing up to release his latest New Balance collaboration incorporating the popular 550. Check the breakdown and set your release date. A faded lilac hue adorns the upper, with key collaborative touches sprinkled throughout from the heel branding to the special shoe box. Expected to release on July 14th through select retailers including Sneaker Politics, priced at $130.
Original story: Rich Paul is one of the largest agents in all of sports, managing high-grossing NBA players such as LeBron James, Anthony Davis, Draymond Green, and Zach LaVine. In 2021, he was given the opportunity to flex his creative muscles again with the 550 collaboration with New Balance, and now it looks like a sequel is in the works.
This first set of leaked images reveals an aerial view of the upper and packaging. Moving away from the white leather panels featured in this first version, this next version is styled with a buttery suede build covered in a lavender hue. His full name is printed across the tongue, while his initials are placed on the footbed and heel, complete with an intertwined rose graphic. We also got a glimpse of the pair's shoe box. The top of the lid features the co-branded hit song and the words “Forever Yours” are engraved on the inside, all in the same font as Verdi's signature Girls Don. 't Cry logo.
No official release information has been announced for this pair yet, but you can get a first look in the gallery above.
In addition to sneakers, the first photo of COMME des GARÇONS HOMME x Tokyo Design Studio New Balance 610 appears.
