Former president of Southern Glazer's Wine and Spirits advises fast-growing WES brand
Dallas, Texas (July 13, 2023) – WES Brands, parent company of Flecha Azul Tequila and BSB Flavored Whiskey, today announced that industry leader Shelly Stein has been appointed Chair of the WES Brands Advisory Board.

It is with the utmost gratitude that I resign from my position as President of Southern Glazer's Wine & Spirits.”
For the past 13 years, Stein served as CEO of Glazer's Distributors and then president of Southern Glazer's Wine & Spirits, helping establish the company as a leader in beverage alcohol distribution. As CEO of his family-run Glazer's Distributors, Stein played a key role in the merger of his Glazer's and Southern Wine & Spirits, creating Southern Glazer's Wine & Spirits.

He will continue to serve on the advisory board of Deutsch Family Wine and Spirits.
Prior to working in the beverage alcohol industry, Stein served as Vice Chairman of Investment Banking at Bank of America Merrill Lynch and was an advisor to Glazer's distributors. He also previously worked at Bear, Stearns & Co. Inc., where he was a managing director for more than 20 years, and as a partner at the Dallas law firm Hughes & Luce.
Mr. Stein's appointment follows WES Brands' new leadership team, which includes Sean Thurman as chief executive officer, Sean Penn as co-president and chief operating officer, Kyle Stein as co-president and Chris Jebbia as senior vice president. This took place just a few months after the announcement. Director of Finance, Chris Saysel has been named Senior Vice President of Sales, Lauren Ryan Kyack has been named Senior Vice President of Marketing, and Russell Lewis has been named Senior Vice President of Operations.
