Angelica Finley and Christopher Fletcher met while working at the Ritz-Carlton in Atlanta. The two shared a passion for quality food and excellent service. In 2018, the two co-founded a food truck called Flavor Rich, which serves spicy breakfast and lunch menus in Alpharetta. Two years later, the two took the pandemic as an opportunity to find an affordable space in Suwanee. Since August 2020, Fletcher has been running Flavor Rich as chef and Finley as manager.
“It started out slow, but the community supported us,” Finley says. “Word of mouth brought in so many customers that we outgrew the space after the first year.”
Wait times at the 30-seat restaurant can often be as long as two and a half hours, so Finley and Fletcher opened a second location, Flavor Rich Atlanta, across from Emory Midtown late last month.549 Peachtree Street Northeast). With double the seating, a larger kitchen, and a 12-seat bar, Flavor Rich offers reservations, an all-day brunch menu (rather than separate breakfast and lunch options like Suwanee's), and seasonal craft cocktails. Menu items include truffled steak and eggs, chicken and waffles with edible gold leaf, peach cobbler French toast, and lobster thermidor. Wine, champagne, and blood orange margaritas are also available. Freshly squeezed juices are also available.
“It's well-seasoned, good American food, soul food and seafood,” Finley says. “It's not a specific genre, it's food made with love and passion.”
She describes the space as “stylish and sexy” and a place where people can “relax and unwind.” With a black and gold color scheme, it's similar to the Suwanee store, only on a larger scale.
In-store rules remain the same: no installments, changes or returns. “We want our customers to taste and enjoy the food we make,” Finley says. “We're excited to open in Midtown and embrace the city just as the city has embraced us.”
