There isn't much suspense in Tuesday's Georgia presidential primary, but voting for Election Day voters will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
All of the primary challengers to Democratic President Joe Biden and Republican former President Donald Trump have suspended or ended their campaigns, but some of these candidates' names are will still be on the ballot.
According to the Cobb Board of Elections, early voting for the primary was extremely low, with fewer than 30,000 votes cast.
But the results are being closely watched as a precursor to the general election in November, especially given Georgia is one of the nation's key battleground states and the 2020 results.
After multiple recounts, Mr. Biden won by less than 12,000 votes, but Mr. Trump and his allies claim the results were fraudulent.
This ultimately led Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis to indict Trump and 18 others on racketeering, conspiracy, and other charges.
The outcome of Tuesday's vote will be particularly closely watched in metropolitan Atlanta and suburbs like Cobb, which was once a Republican stronghold but has trended Democratic in recent election cycles.
In the 2020 election, Biden won the Cobb vote; Meanwhile, voters in East Cobb supported Trump..
The Cobb Board of Elections has announced several district changes that will apply to the presidential primary, three of which are in East Cobb.
