waller – Jeremy the Turtle, 30, is well known online.
His viral eccentricities include frequent escape attempts. Blue Heron Farm At Waller. Jeremy's owners adopted him last year as a petting zoo and beer garden decoration, but it turns out he's more of a traveler than they thought.
The 90-pound African brown tortoise went missing so often that its owner was forced to wear an Apple Air Tag to track its movements.
But around 5pm on Wednesday, Jeremy's owner posted that the turtle had gotten lost again and his air tag was no longer able to land any attacks.
“We put him in lost mode,” the post reads.
Jeremy is known for sneaking away from the farm, and his owners were worried he might have been taken away.
It turns out to be a little bit of both.
Jeremy did indeed wander from the Waller farm and was picked up by a concerned citizen who took him to his turtle farm a mile away. Her owners used social media Thursday to locate her, but by the time she arrived, Jeremy had become romantically involved with a female turtle.
When a user asked if Jeremy was probably wandering around looking for a mate, his owner said, “He wasn't looking for a girlfriend, he just got lucky and found one and was taken.” answered.
What is love if it is not a game of luck?
Her owners say they plan to pick her up and take her home after a romantic date. It also turns out that their location is too rural for airtags to be useful.
“Next we're going to put a dog tag on his shell with our phone number on it,” they posted.
