Biden heads to Michigan for campaigning today as President Trump holds important hearing in Florida

President Joe Biden will visit the private home of one of his supporters in Saginaw, Michigan, on Thursday and participate in a campaign conference there as he works to build reelection infrastructure in a key battleground state.
The visit to Saginaw comes amid a surge in Biden's campaign travel as the general election gets underway. In the past week, he's made stops in Pennsylvania, Georgia, New Hampshire, Wisconsin and Michigan, with more trips planned in the coming days.
Across the region, he has paid special attention to on-the-ground organizations that the campaign says are strengthening as the rematch with Donald Trump begins.
The president's campaign recently announced it would hire 350 new employees and open 100 new offices as part of a month-long business ramp-up. They say Biden and other administration officials, including the vice president, are “working with the grassroots forces that will lead us to victory in November.”
“This is how we will win again,” Biden said Wednesday in Milwaukee, his first stop on a tour of two Great Lakes states. “A lot of people helped me in 2020. We made sure he was a loser and a loser. We're going to make sure it happens again, right?”
In Saginaw, which has a high concentration of Black and Latino voters, Biden hopes to rebuild the coalition that propelled him to the White House in 2020.
Campaign officials said he plans to deliver remarks that will illustrate “the stark contrast between his policies to lower the cost of living for Michiganders and Donald Trump's attacks on working families in our state.”
