Spencer Matthews was crowned star baker on Sunday's first episode of The Great Celebrity Bake Off after impressing with his artistic talent.
Hosts Alison Hammond and Noel Fielding will welcome 20 stars into their tent over the coming weeks in support of Stand Up to Cancer, and their efforts will be highlighted by Paul Hollywood and Dame Prue Leith Will be examined.
The special Munya Chawawa kick-off saw Paloma Faith, Jodie Whittaker and Spencer face off, with the judges largely unimpressed by their “terrible” work.
But the 35-year-old TV personality managed to sway votes with his “Showstoppers”, jammy biscuits with decorative details.
During the episode, the Signature Challenge saw contestants making cake pops, while the Technical was given the challenge of creating a batch of four identical pretzels.
Finally, in Showstopper, the bakers had to impress the judges with giant biscuit portraits depicting Paul and Prue's faces.
The contestants were first tasked with making cake pops, and Jodie's sunshine-themed baked goods were praised by the judges.
Paloma decided to make a whimsical poop emoji-shaped cake pop with chocolate and caramel flavors.
“It's a little grainy, but I really like the taste,” Paul said of the singer's sweet treat.
Elsewhere, Spencer created red velvet cake pops, but Mangia failed to impress as she submitted her bold Ed Sheeran-shaped bake to the judges “raw”.
The celebrities are then given a technical challenge, a batch of four identical pretzels with red Leicester cheese sauce, to be judged blindly.
When ranking baked goods from worst to best, Paloma came in last, with Paul commenting, “I don't know what this is, it's just a roll.”
Like Paloma, Jody also struggled to get into shape and finished in third place, while Spencer took second place with the judges praising his “flavor”.
Paul and Prue are impressed by Munya's pretzels after he “redeemed himself”.
After the celebs showed off the first two buns, Paul said: “They were all terrible.”
For the final challenge, contestants spent three hours creating giant biscuit portraits of the judges' faces.
“I hope they shave 50 years off my face,” Prue said. I hope you will be absolutely amazed. ”
Munya started making chili and coco biscuits with the judges' faces made of buttercream.
Jody decides to make a giant custard cream surrounded by ice party rings, and Spencer decides to make a giant jam sandwich biscuit with a Jekyll and Hyde theme.
Paloma decided to make simple chocolate chip cookies so she could “focus on perfecting the judges' faces.”
Comedian Munya suffers a disaster when he burns biscuits, and Jodie struggles with her artistic talent.
Paloma impressed the judges by making Prue “20 years off” and Paul “like Zeus”, but her cookies were less impressive.
The judges praised the flavor of Munya's biscuits but questioned her portraiture, but Jodi's custard cream deserved similar recognition, and she also struggled with decorating her baked goods.
Proulx praised Spencer's clever use of jammy biscuits in homage to Stand Up to Cancer, and praised his “incredible” painting skills.
“That winner is Paloma, no, not really,” Noel joked before announcing the winner to Spencer.
“He beat Star Baker because Jody was a close second, but he actually kept getting better and better,” Paul said.
Mel B, Oti Mabuse, Danny Dyer and Lord Gilbert are among the stars taking part in Celebrity Great British Bake Off.
Comedian Lord, 55, was diagnosed with head and neck cancer in April 2022 after discovering a lump. She had her first clear test in October.
Other potential candidates include TV presenter Dermot O'Leary and broadcaster Gabby Logan.
The Oti and Gabby episode will also feature comedians David O'Doherty and Susie Ruffel, while O'Leary and Mel B will be joined by Radio 1's Greg James and comedian Fern Brady.
Also in the tent will be broadcasters Reverend Richard Coles and Sarah Cox, Heartstoppers star Joe Locke and Last Leg's Adam Hills.
Over two days, celebrities face signature technical and high-profile challenges as they compete to be crowned Star Baker at the end of each episode.
