HOLLYWOOD, Fla. (WSVN) – It was a celebration of the stars in South Florida as celebrities and fans alike flocked to Shakira's new album release party.
The red carpet rolled out Thursday night for the Colombian superstar, who is releasing his first album in seven years.
Supporters and fans gathered for a listening party for her album “Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran” (“Women Don't Cry Anymore”) at Hard Rock Live.
The album is very personal and vulnerable for the superstar following her divorce from Gerard Pique.
Fans like influencer Lele Pons said they were excited to hear the new album.
“It's definitely worth the wait because all the songs she's going to put out are insane,” Pons said.
The former “Dancing with the Stars” contestant shared what she's looking forward to with her new song.
“She's been through a lot and she's come back stronger and she's a mother and she's taking care of her kids and you know she's always there,” Pons said.
A lot of that emotion comes through on the album. In one song, Shakira sings with her two sons, who play the piano.
Friends and fans came out to support him on Thursday.
One of them was singer Emily Estefan and her partner Jemeny Hernandez.
“Shakira, what's the first word that comes to mind?” said 7News reporter Alex Miranda.
“Lelololelole,” Estefan said.
“Honestly, it's the same thing! It still is,” said 7News reporter Alex Miranda.
“She's always empowering women, empowering music, playing instruments and showcasing our culture,” Estefan said. “Now she can do anything.” [expletove] She wants, and it's all going to be incredible. ”
Shakira also teased a collaboration with Cardi B on her new album, which seems like a combination many people didn't realize they needed in their lives.
The album was released at midnight on Friday.
Shakira was also expected to walk the red carpet during Thursday night's event.
