Controversial uncle Gary Goldsmith quit the Celebrity Big Brother show on Friday night after Duchess Kate revealed her cancer diagnosis.
“Following today's news, I will not be participating in tonight's Celebrity Big Brother final,” Goldsmith, 58, said. About British Game Show X.
“We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all the housemates and everyone involved in the production of this wonderful show. We hope that everyone will enjoy this special night.”
In another tweet, he wrote: “As many of you have seen, I am featured in Saturday's Times Magazine. This interview and filming took place over a week ago, and I am sharing the sad news about my niece Kate. It was printed before I knew it.”
“My thoughts and prayers are with Kate and her family at this difficult time and I am deeply disturbed by the timing of this article. I hope this puts a line under the continuing speculation and scary conspiracies. . Let's give Kate, William and the kids time and return the love,'' Goldsmith concluded about his large family.
Goldsmith appeared on Season 23 of the reality game show earlier this month and spent a whopping five days at home before being eliminated on March 8th.
During Mr Goldsmith's stay, fellow Big Brother contestant and Love Island UK winner Ekin-Sue Krukroglu confronted him about the whereabouts of her niece. After undergoing abdominal surgery scheduled for January, conspiracy theories are spreading online.
Goldsmith replied: “She doesn't want to talk about it, so the last thing I'm going to do is… there's something like etiquette. If it comes out, I'm going to give you my opinion.”
“I hope she's okay,” Karkroglu said jokingly.
“She's getting the best care in the world,” Goldsmith said, claiming to have spoken to her sister and Kate's mother, Carole, adding: “What the family has done is keep the wagons rolling and, above all, All I have to do is take care of my family first.”

“They put out a statement saying it's just a long recovery and we'll see you at Easter,” Goldsmith added, insisting Kate would “be back”.
Middleton revealed in a video Friday that she was undergoing chemotherapy for cancer, but did not say where in her body the cancer was located.
” [abdominal] The surgery was successful. However, post-surgery tests revealed the presence of cancer,'' the mother of three said. “Therefore, my medical team advised me to undergo preventive chemotherapy, and I am currently in the early stages of that treatment.”
Middleton described her husband, Prince William, as a “great source of comfort and reassurance” and assured fans that he is “fine and growing stronger every day.”
