I'm a celebrity…get me out of here! Star Frankie Muniz opens up about what it was really like to grow up in the spotlight and work as a child actor.
in Yahoo LifestyleExclusive preview of Monday night's episode, malcolm in the middle Starr explained to her campmates that due to child labor laws, she could only work nine and a half hours a day until she turned 15.
“But you have to fit in three hours of school for that,” he elaborated. “We rehearsed, and then they let you run. Literally, the assistant director is like, 'Okay, go to school, go to school!'
“And they had to mark the start time because we had to shoot in 20-minute increments. And as soon as the 20 minutes were up, they were like, 'Okay, we're going to go on set and shoot.' That's why there was no break.”

Frankie went on to reveal that from the time she started her business at the age of eight, she rarely took time off from work. malcolm in the middle It ended when I was 20 years old.
“If I add up my days off, I think I've had about 30 days off in 12 years. It's been non-stop,” he said.
Frankie's shocking alcohol confession
Despite being one of the most successful child actors of the 2000s, he appeared in the film big fat liar and Agent Cody Banks Alongside Amanda Bynes and Hilary Duff, Frankie put his acting career on hold in 2008 to pursue a career as a race car driver.
“I was at the peak of my career and I was calling my agent and manager and saying, 'I don't want to act right now, I'm going to focus on racing,'” he recalled.
“And they were like, 'Yeah, yeah, yeah.' So they're still calling me and saying, 'I got this offer, I got this offer, I got this offer,' and I was like, 'Yeah, yeah, yeah.' I was like, “No, I'm serious.” I did not do anything. ”

Frankie also said that unlike other child stars he grew up with, he never tried alcohol or drugs or went through a “wild phase.”
“I'm 38 years old and I've never had a sip of alcohol. Most child actors use heroin at 19, you know what I'm saying?” he said. “I've never done anything.
“I never really felt like I didn't belong. But even when I got nominated for awards and stuff and went to award shows, I literally felt like an outcast. I didn't feel like, “Oh, this is mine, this is my mate.'' It was like just saying the words written on the paper. ”
