La Crosse's public transportation headquarters has become a popular destination for VIPs from Washington and beyond.
President Joe Biden visited the MTU facility on La Plume Island in 2021 and emphasized the use of electric buses. A year later, EPA Administrator Michael Regan was also impressed by the potential of the city's wastewater treatment plant.
On Wednesday, Mitch Landrieu of the Biden-Harris campaign will stop by MTU headquarters as part of a visit to Wisconsin to tout the Biden administration's successes.
Landrieu is a former mayor of New Orleans and an advisor to the White House on infrastructure needs. La Crosse Mayor Mitch Reynolds will also be on the tour.
The visit comes a day after Reynolds hosted Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers in La Crosse.
Landrieu is on a two-day tour of Wisconsin.
On Tuesday, he saw an electric car in Racine and met with the mayor of Madison. After visiting La Crosse, Landrieu plans to travel to Wausau to tour the city's water treatment facility.
