Skirts are everywhere now. Of course, they're nothing new, and we've definitely seen certain skirts rise through the ranks and become cult items in their own right (like Prada's pink satin miniskirt with a cascading train) immediately come to mind). However, as a product category, skirts often play a second (or third) role after dresses, jeans, and pants, especially in recent years, when pants trends have emerged one after another. But now is the time for skirts to shine.
According to fashion data analysis platform Tagwalk, 16% more skirts appeared on the spring/summer 2024 runways compared to the previous year. This may not sound like a big deal, but considering the amount of skirts designers typically offer in their warm-weather collections, tagging an extra 16% on it is pretty significant. It's not just the runways that are seeing the transition from pants to skirts. Celebrities are constantly wearing skirts this year. If you compare your recent look with the look you wore last year, you'll see that skirts are much more dominant than they were back then.
I've always been a dress and skirt person, so you can imagine how happy I am to see the latter return in 2024. So I wanted to document all the chic celebrity skirt outfits I've seen recently. 1) to emulate myself, and 2) to inspire me to wear more skirts this season. From Laura Harrier to Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, scroll through to see her nine celebrity skirt looks that give you the best bang for your buck for tailored pants.

Style notes: Laura Harrier is one of my favorite dressers, and for good reason. She knows how to create gorgeous silhouettes. She was inspired to use a statement belt to break up maxi skirts and jumpers that might have otherwise overwhelmed her.
