You never know when you'll see a celebrity in New York State. This is not unusual, as many of these movie stars, athletes, and comedians live, work, and play in the Empire State. But it's amazing, especially if you've been seeing them on stage and screen for decades.

Just this week, actor and comedian Chevy Chase was spotted at a restaurant in central New York. Was he in town for work or play? Here's what we know.

Earlier this year, Chevy Chase headed to Utica, New York to film scenes for an unreleased movie called “The Christmas Letter.” Reports say Chase and his crew had been operating in the area for about a month. Chevy Chase is also reported to have a home in Bedford, New York.

According to Syracuse.com, Chevy Chase spent several days in central New York observing the eclipse from a cornfield in Van Buren, New York. On Tuesday night, Chevrolet and his wife had dinner at Pastabilities.
