Jeremy and Laura West were not only happy to be in Bucyrus and experience totality during the eclipse, but they were also excited to shop at Print Happy.
“We came here to see the path of the total solar eclipse and to visit family,” said Jeremy West, who traveled to Bucyrus from Rifle, Colorado.
Jeremy West said he was waiting for Print Happy owners Rachel and Kevin Myers to create a Total Eclipse of the Brat sweatshirt for him because he's a foodie. Ta.
Rachel (Stryker) Myers opened Print Happy in 2020, just before the pandemic hit.
“When the pandemic hit, the signs I made for essential workers really got things going,” Rachel said.
Business begins to boom under the banner of essential workers.
Through the business she operated out of her home before moving to East Warren Street, she created yard flags that read “Essential Workers Live Here,” as well as other signs and masks. I made it.
“The essential worker signs took off and business really took off,” she said of the signs she has shipped across the country, including 200 to Missouri.
A few years later, she moved the company to its current location (238 S. Sandusky Ave.) and changed the name to Print Happier.
“I started helping out at the store after I got married. I have a lot to learn, but I have great teachers,” Kevin said of his new wife.
The couple married on December 23rd.
A ribbon cutting ceremony was recently held at the store by the Bucyrus Area Chamber of Commerce.
“We are a small, family-owned screen printing and custom design business. We currently have no employees, but we plan to add additional support as we continue to grow,” Rachel said. “He has one job shadower, and there are two more scheduled.”
Customized products are the key to success
This business not only offers different products but also different quantities.
“These days we mainly sell T-shirts, but the more people come into the store, the more we realize the huge potential we have in creating something with and for them. I think more people will do it,” Rachel said. “I don't think people fully understand everything we do here and our ability and willingness to customize and create the most outlandish ideas.”
The couple is willing to produce paper products in low quantities (small quantities, no minimum price) that would not be economical to do otherwise.
“We offer a range of award plaques that can be printed in full color or laser engraved. We also print and engrave personalized gifts for weddings, birthdays, anniversaries and more,” says Rachel. I did.
Rachel said she works with Kevin to bring the wildest ideas to life, as well as print everyday items such as company shirts, business cards and shipping labels.
“If you can dream it, most of the time we can make it happen,” Rachel said while pressing Jeremy West into an eclipse sweatshirt.
She said the store carries clothing with a school feel, from sweatsuits and keychains to garden flags and large face cutouts.
“We also love fundraising and have a great platform to provide organizations with a specific online store where we handle ordering, inventory, and delivery, including shipping,” Rachel said . “I love creating things that make people happy or that are useful in some way.”
Her store is making the products as part of a fundraiser for Bucyrus resident Gabby Kozinski, who was recently crowned Miss Wheelchair Ohio 2024, so she can compete in the national competition in August. she said.
The shop is open Wednesdays and Thursdays from 10am to 5pm, Fridays from 10am to 6pm, and Mondays, Tuesdays and Saturdays by appointment only. The store is closed on Sundays.
