“Our so-called leaders speak in words and try to imprison you. They bring the meek to their knees. But it is the rhetoric of failure.” – “Spirits of the Material World”, Police The other night, I had a dream that I was attending the inauguration of a new nation. The president I never dreamed of. I just heard him speak. He spoke loudly and forcefully, and his words were full of anger.
First he ordered that the flags of all other nations must be destroyed. His followers began trampling and burning the flags of every country in the world, including those of allied nations.
A new country was born in which citizens who did not agree with the new regime were killed by being beaten with a golden hammer or administered cyanide, known as “pink death” because the color of rose was added to the poison. I was doing it.
Because the rest of the world did not recognize this new country, U.S. passports were invalid and no one could leave.
I teamed up with actor Mike Farrell (maybe he's been watching too many “M*A*S*H” reruns) to try and escape. I told the authorities that I was his daughter and he pretended to be in a vegetative state. When no one was looking, he gave me ideas for how to escape.
I hurried down the long, black hallway, planning my escape. A young man approached me with a smile on his face. Suddenly he pulled out a golden hammer from his jacket. I was too scared to move. he said to me: “Either this hammer kills you, or Pink Death will kill you.'' I chose Pink Death. I was dosed with poison and immediately everything went black.
That's when I decided to get up and actually breathed a sigh of relief when I realized I was in my bed.
I've always had strange dreams. Most of the time, my dreams aren't that disturbing. I go to sleep most nights wondering where my dreams will take me. I hope dreams don't take me to this place again.
Real life is invading my dreams. This is a presidential election year, and many people are concerned about that. Obviously, that weighs more heavily on my mind than I realize.
A replay of the 2020 matchup seems inevitable, which is more than a little disappointing. One ran for office promising to be dictator almost from day one, and the other's mental fitness for the job has been frequently questioned.
I'm already dreading the argument between these two. The politicians involved in the debate are more interested in defeating their opponents than in offering anything constructive and useful about how to solve our nation's problems. The men and women running for president don't have all the answers. They pretend that their plans are different and effective without actually going into detail about what their plans are. I might talk about it. If voters want to know what a candidate is going to do about reducing dependence on foreign oil or saving Social Security, they can also visit that politician's website and order presidential campaign merchandise. can.
I don't even know why either party cares about their conventions this year. Save your money for more important things. I'm sure both sides have some kind of preparation.
As a voter, I'm wary of presidential candidates who say they support the forgotten. As a woman, I cannot forget that one of the candidates continues to seek to destroy women's reproductive rights.
Be very careful when considering putting someone in the Oval Office. If we make the wrong choice, one day we may wake up in a world we no longer recognize.
