Few high-profile events have attracted a guest list as global as Time100's Celebration of Most Influential People. Held every spring, the annual soirée brings together the year's stars, singers, artists, athletes, humanitarians and more for a night of high fashion, music and celebration. This year, honoree Taraji P. Henson will host a star-studded celebration at New York's Lincoln Center, and attendees will also be treated to live performances by two Time 100 honorees, Fantasia and Dua Lipa. They performed three singles from the upcoming album. radical optimism. But before the icons took center stage, guests of honor and more prominent celebrities walked the red carpet in a number of highly glamorous designer numbers, setting the tone for the glittering evening ahead.
Just like on this awards season circuit, everyone was dressed in their best, with celebrities often sticking to statement monochromatic gowns or head-to-toe glitter. Lipa chose the latter and looked stunning in a custom Chanel dress embellished with rhinestones. Fantasia matched her fashion energy in her mono black sequin dress with her matching headpiece. And then there were some lackluster selections. Uma Thurman's Prada dress in particular felt just as glamorous as the rest of the red carpet lineup, thanks to its deep purple hue. VIP presenter Henson also eschewed any sparkle, but her emerald green Thom Browne dress with cutouts above the knee certainly wasn't lacking in the drama department.

Ahead of her high-profile performance, Lipa made a grand entrance wearing a rhinestone-embellished Chanel semi-sheer dress, topped with a contemporary bow. A striking keyhole cutout peeked out beneath her bow, which added the perfect amount of spice to her final fit.

Thurman looked definitely timeless in the aforementioned purple Prada dress with a wide neckline and delicate train. She topped off her latest designer number with gold leather sandals and the label's gold crystal Cleo bag.

Henson was dressed to impress in a Thom Browne ensemble befitting her new Time100 title. The host paired a corseted midi dress with a cropped blazer. Both are cool toned shades of emerald green.

The Academy Award winner (who is also a Time 100 Award winner) wore a custom beige one-shoulder dress courtesy of Italian designer Elisabetta Franchi to mark her long-awaited return to the red carpet after awards season. I tried my best.
