The Iowa Department of Education announced last week that two Iowa educators have been selected as finalists for the 2024 President's Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Education.
This year's finalists are:
-PAEMST Mathematics: Susan Wenger teaches at Valley Elementary School in Elgin.
-PAEMST Science: Brenda Kaufman teaches second grade at Kitatama Elementary School in Treer. She is also her STEM coordinator for the district.
The President's Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST) is the highest recognition that a K-12 science, technology, engineering, mathematics and/or computer science teacher can receive for teaching excellence in the United States. is.
