NILES, Ohio (WKBN) – Sometimes little kids come up with big business ideas. Junior Achievement held a youth market at Eastwood Mall on Saturday.
Young go-getters sold sweets, jewelry, Legos, paintings and more. Her children, ages 10 to 14, have set up shop at Eastwood Mall.
Junior Achievement's Michele Markle said, “Everything you learn about running a business, including customer service, marketing, communication, brainstorming, and thinking creatively outside the box, will help you in your future career and as an employee. It can be applied.”
Kadience Parker was one of the young entrepreneurs who attended the event.
Her mother owned a boutique and taught her to sew from an early age.
Cadience sells scrunchies, ribbons, and headbands that they make themselves. She said Girly Gurl Accessories is about helping girls feel empowered.
“I'll probably continue doing this because I want to have my own boutique shop when I get older. If girls look beautiful, I feel beautiful, so I want to make girls feel beautiful and special.” “I want them to do that,” she said.
Similarly, Haley Johansmeyer also creates crystal jewelry. She has been using Gristing Her Jewels for three years now, and she says it has allowed her to express herself. She sells some of her products online in her shop and youth her market.
“I am about to [saw] There are a lot of people my age who are doing things like entrepreneurship. So I decided to try something myself. “I'm a really creative person, so I decided to do something that would allow me to unleash my creativity,” she said.
Joshua Peffer said his love of Lego as a child was the inspiration for his Lego-themed business. He sells Lego straws, pens, and keychains. He has been at Junior His Achievement for two and a half years and has learned a lot about business.
“You have to deduct what you spend. You also have to have a way to track what's popular, how to get people's attention, how to track what people like the most,” he said. Ta.
