As President Biden ramps up his travel schedule, the White House has hired longtime Democratic presidential campaign veteran Greg Hale as director of presidential production, sources tell The Hill.
The hires come as the White House Office of Planning and Advance Management is adding more people to its team as Biden prepares for a grueling travel schedule over the next six months in his re-election battle against former President Donald Trump.
Mr. Hale, an Arkansas native and cattle farmer, is well known in Democratic circles, and his colleagues call him a “master of case'' and “a guru of optics.'' One source said that Hale is “a professional at telling stories using scenes and backgrounds.”
He compiled footage and other background from Hillary Clinton's acceptance speech at the Javits Center in New York during the 2016 presidential election.
In addition to former President Clinton's re-election campaign, Hale also worked on the presidential campaigns of John Kerry and Al Gore.
The Hill reported in March that the White House was prioritizing travel by diverting limited personnel to advance offices during an election year.
“This is a sign that all systems are coming to a halt,” a person familiar with the decision-making said at the time. “They are preparing for the future, and there will be a lot of travel and messaging events in the near future.” Hale will report to Ryan Montoya, head of scheduling and advance. .
