Capricorns are hard-working and Virgos are great at budgeting, but to find out which sign you're destined for, you'll need to dig a little deeper than your sun sign. rich Rich. Astrologers look at the luckiest and most financially wise birth chart placements to determine who will be rich in the future.
In astrology, configuration refers to the position of a planet or celestial body in one of the 12 houses or signs at the time you were born, says astrologer and spiritual counselor Letao Wang. “Understanding configurations can help decipher the subtle influences celestial bodies have on an individual's life path and personality traits,” he tells Bustle.
Certain planets in certain positions can mean that money will come easily through a promotion or a raise, but it can also mean that money will come to you without much effort, such as winning the lottery, being close to wealthy friends, or having wealthy parents.
“It highlights the astrological belief that while certain placements may ease the path to wealth, determination, hard work and leveraging other favorable aspects within your chart are just as important,” Wang said.
With that in mind, here are the top three birth chart placements commonly found in the birth charts of the wealthiest people and what they mean.
Jupiter in the 2nd House
Check your birth chart to see what planets are in your second house. If it's Jupiter, you're in luck. Jupiter is known as the planet of expansion and good fortune, and since the second house represents finances and possessions, this placement suggests you have a natural talent for attracting wealth, says Wang.
“Jupiter's presence here opens up opportunities for financial gain through various means,” he adds. This typically indicates that your efforts at work are often rewarded with raises, promotions, etc. For those with less favorable placements, it may seem like your hard work isn't paying off.
Jupiter in the 8th House
“Similarly, when Jupiter is in the eighth house – traditionally associated with transformation, sharing resources and renewal – it suggests potential wealth through partnerships, inheritances and investments,” Wang says.
This placement may mean that wealth comes to you with little effort on your own, whether that be being born into a wealthy family, winning the lottery, getting lucky with an investment windfall, or receiving money from a family member.
“This placement often suggests beneficial results will come from joint ventures or financial strategies using other people's resources,” he says, so affluent marriages are also a consideration.
Jupiter forms a trine or sextile with the lord of the 2nd or 8th house
If you want to really dive into the details of your birth chart placement, consider this: “When your second house ruler forms a trine (120-degree aspect) or sextile (60-degree aspect) with Jupiter, it's another auspicious sign for wealth,” says Wang. “These harmonious aspects promote the flow of good fortune and increase the chances of financial prosperity.”
Need to get a mental picture of what that looks like in your chart? “For example, if you have an Aries ascendant, your second house would be in Taurus and your second house ruler would be Venus,” says Wang. “Even if you don't have Jupiter in your second house, if your natal Venus is in a trine/sextile with your natal Jupiter, this is also a great sign of wealth.”
In non-astrological terms, this means you're business savvy: you know a good deal when you see one, and you're always ready to take on new challenges at work in order to get promoted and earn more money.
“Finally, Jupiter is the traditional ruler of Sagittarius and Pisces and is exalted in Cancer, so if your natal Jupiter is in these three signs along with the above house placements, your chances of acquiring great wealth are even greater,” says Wang. If so, get ready for a shopping spree, international travel, and lavish living.
