Forbes Korea has finally removed its long-awaited 2024 “Power Celebrity” list, with K-pop giants such as BLACKPINK and New Jeans securing the top spot. BLACKPINK topped the coveted list, while NewJeans secured third place and BTS' Jimin secured seventh place. Check out Forbes' top 10 most influential Korean celebrities in 2024.
Forbes Korea's Power Celebrity 40 list began in 2009. Each year, the magazine selects the 40 most influential people in entertainment and sports based on accomplishments, social media popularity, income, and more. BTS topped the 2023 Forbes Power Celebrity List, while BLACKPINK remained in third place.
Forbes Korea's 2024 Most Influential Korean Celebrities List
1. Blackpink
The quartet of Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa reigns as the queens of K-pop, and it's no wonder. Despite being on hiatus since 2022, the girls continue to dominate the music scene with solo music releases, brand deals, world tours, and performances at Coachella.
2. son heung min
Next, South Korean soccer star Son Heung-min is on the list, maintaining his position from last year. Son, who is captain of Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur and the South Korean national team, is considered the greatest soccer player in Asian history.
3. New jeans
Despite being fairly new to the K-Pop scene, NewJeans has already gained a large following. Minji, Hani, Daniel, Hyerin, and Hae In have created countless hit songs since their debut in 2022. They recently made history by becoming the first K-pop group to win Group of the Year at the 2024 Billboard Women in Music Awards.
4. Kim Min Jae
Another soccer player dominating the top five is Korean soccer player Kim Min-jae of Bayern Munich.Nickname monster, The 27-year-old is considered one of the best defenders in the world.
5. Im Young Eun
Popular as the only musician with the potential to become a top K-pop idol, Lim Young-woong is a ballad, pop, and trot singer, entertainer, and YouTuber. Eun recently announced her long-awaited comeback with a double single album scheduled to be released on May 6, 2024.
6. Lee Jung Hoo
A sensation in the baseball world, Lee Jung-hoo always makes headlines with his amazing achievements. Jonghoo plays for the San Francisco Giants of Major League Baseball. He previously played for Kiwoom Heroes in the KBO League.
7. Jimin of BTS
Although BTS didn't make it into the top 10 this year, thanks to his solo career, Jimin took seventh place. Jimin releases his debut solo album. face 2023 will consist of chart-breaking singles such as; Set Me Free Points 2 and Like crazy. He recently made history as like crazy It became the first Korean solo song to surpass 1 billion streams on Spotify.
8. Lee Kang In
The third soccer player to be included in Forbes Korea's Power Celebrity 2024 list is Lee Kang-in, a member of Paris Saint-Germain and the Korean national team. The soccer player has represented his country's national team in the 2022 FIFA World Cup and 2023 AFC Asian Cup.
9. Jungkook of BTS
As the second BTS member to break into the top 10, Jungkook thrilled the entire world to the rhythm with his performance at the 2022 FIFA World Cup Opening Ceremony.from dreamers and left and right to Seven and 3D – Jungkook has recently released multiple hit singles.
10. Live
Joining the top 10 list of most powerful Korean celebrities is another K-Pop girl group, IVE. The six-member band consisting of Eugene, Ga Eul, Lay, Won Young, Liz, and Yi Seo debuted in 2021, and since then they have released huge hit songs and successfully completed a world tour.
