FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. — A graduating senior from Forsyth County has been named a Presidential Scholar.

The good news continued for Vineeth Sendilraj, 17, who just passed the extremely tough Advanced Placement exam.
The 12th grader from Lambert High School in Forsyth County is one of the nation's 2024 Presidential Scholars.
“Oh! That's crazy. I called my mom. You! That's outrageous. I just received a scholarship,” Sendhirraj said. Bernd Petersen of Channel 2.
This is one of the highest honors a graduate can achieve. The program celebrates its 60th anniversary this year and honors 161 students each year.

Sendilraj's area of expertise is biotechnology. He and his team have won many awards to prove it.
“We designed an accessible coronary artery disease biosensor that detects microRNAs in the blood,” Sendhirraj said.
That's what presidential scholars are made of. Until recently, before the pandemic, scholars were honored by presidents at the White House.
“I might meet Joe Biden! But then I read that it's going to be online this year. But it's such an honor and I'm so excited,” Sendhirraj said. said.

He will receive the Presidential Scholar Medal in the coming weeks.
There were four Presidential Scholars from Georgia. The other three are Han Sean Lee of Johns Creek High School, Gordon Lichstein of Decatur High School, and Joanna Ian Hsiao of Richmond Hill High School.
