Andriy Yermak, Secretary of State for the President of Ukraine, met with members of the UK Parliament from the opposition Labor Party, John Healy, Shadow Secretary of State for Defence, and David Lammy, Shadow Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs.
Andriy Yermak informed them of the situation on the front, especially in the Kharkov region. He stressed that Ukraine desperately needs F-16 fighter jets, long-range artillery and air defense systems to stabilize the situation.
“I would like to thank the UK for this unprecedented support. You are not just partners, you are true close friends. Ukraine is the first country with which the UK has signed a bilateral security agreement. We are very grateful. If we succeed on the battlefield, we can win. And now is the time to make strong decisions in diplomacy.”
The President spoke about the preparations for the World Peace Summit to be held in Switzerland on June 15 and 16, stressing the need for the widest possible involvement of States in the summit.
Britain's shadow secretaries of state pointed out that they were visiting to show Labour's support for Ukraine.
“Labour’s support for Ukraine is unwavering. There may be a change of UK government this year, but the UK’s determination to support Ukraine remains. Labor is fully committed to increasing UK support for Ukraine this year and in the years to come. ” said David Lammy and John Healy.
