The new name and logo for the Golden State Valkyries, the Bay Area's WNBA team, took flight on Tuesday, and many celebrities and sports stars wore the merchandise on opening day.
Actress Tessa Thompson, who played Valkyrie in the Marvel movie series, calls herself an “instant fan.”

Golden State Warriors manager Steve Kerr and the rest of the team unveiled their uniforms. The Valkyries and Warriors are sports brothers and share the same owner and home court in San Francisco's Chase His Center.

University of Connecticut basketball star Paige Bueckers also cheered on the team's colors. The Buccaneers are projected by many to be the No. 1 pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft, which could bring her to the Bay.
