This is the final primary election for each state that makes up Greater Cincinnati. before focusing on the November general election. yes. And WLWT News Five's Richard Charles was with us live this morning at one of the many polling places in Northern Kentucky. He is preparing to meet voters. Richard, good morning. Yeah. good morning. Voting opened at 6 a.m. this morning, but there were no voters in sight at the Kenton County Library here on Scott Boulevard. Analysts are talking about expected low turnout because the presidential election has already been decided and of course there is a chance to see voters turn out, so certainly not expected again It has said. But if we look at the absentee side, perhaps it's a different story. More than 91,000 people have so far been absent, and to date, more than 75,000 people across the commonwealth have already taken advantage of in-person early voting. Now, the Secretary of State says the final numbers are slightly higher than last year's May primary. Now, in addition to the presidential election, voters will also have US and state-level elections on their ballots. One of them is Thomas Massie, who is seeking to defend his seat in the Republican race for Kentucky's 4th Congressional District against challengers Eric Deters and Michael Gigans. Voting is now open here and across the commonwealth from 6 to 6 p.m. You must be in line by 6pm to ensure your chance to vote in the next 30 minutes.
