RED OAK, Iowa – Senator Joni Ernst (R-IA), Ranking Member of the Senate Small Business Committee, today announced the Small Business of the Week: Ruthven Meat Packing Company in Palo Alto County. Throughout this legislative session, Ranking Member Ernst will be honoring small businesses in all 99 counties in Iowa.

In 2002, Terry and Beth Craft founded Ruthven Meat Processing, which provides meat, custom meat processing, and meat storage to customers in Palo Alto County. The couple's son, Chris Kraft, bought the company from his parents in 2019 and currently serves as president and CEO, along with his wife, Susie, vice president of marketing. The business now also has locations in Arnolds Park, Spencer and Spirit Lake. The entire team at Ruthven Meat Processing has received numerous awards from the Iowa Meat Processors Association and is well known for excellence in the field. In 2024, Ruthven Meat Processing celebrates its 22nd anniversary.n.d. Business anniversary under the leadership of the Kraft family.
