SHREVEPORT/BOSIER, La. (KSLA) – LaDOTD announced that starting Wednesday, May 29, the I-20 entrance and exit ramps at LA 72 (Old Minden Road) will be closed until mid-August.
KSLA News 12 spoke with area businesses to find out how this closure will impact business over the next three months.
“I am really worried [as] Be a hairdresser because I don't want it to affect my business. That's how you make money. And now we have to be a little bit more flexible,” Fairy Magic owner Tekala Davis said.
The next phase of the I-20 renovation project will include closing the ramp starting at Old Minden Road.

Local officials say the street is extremely congested.
“This is a busy exit. We have restaurants. We have financial institutions. We also have, you know, schools that are not completely closed yet.”
LaDOTD is considering Airline Drive and Benton Road as alternate routes if you need to travel through the area.
Prior to the closure, the Bossier Chamber of Commerce contacted area businesses about the closure.
“They weren't necessarily upset, but they are concerned because now they have to really pay attention to their books and their finances because they know that with this ramp closing, they're going to lose business,” said Lisa Johnson, president of the Bossier Chamber of Commerce.
Johnson said the Old Minden Road corridor will remain open. Residents and visitors can support these businesses by continuing to frequent the area.
The entire construction project is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2025.
