Lisa Vanderpump and Gordon Ramsay get real about what they look for in a potential business partner on “Gordon Ramsay's Food Stars.”
“How are you going to make your team?” Ramsay, 57, asked Vanderpump, 63, in an exclusive preview with Page Six ahead of Wednesday's Season 2 premiere.
“Are you looking for characters rather than products?” Products rather than characters? ”
After some thought, Vanderpump reveals she's looking for both when curating a team of up-and-comers in the culinary products field to compete against Ramsay's own contestants on the Fox reality competition series. I made it.
“We want to have personality and a product,” the restaurateur asserts. “We need people who are creative. We need people who have organizational skills because it's not just about business. That's the character we're looking for.”
Ramsay told his friend and fellow Brit that he was looking for the same qualities in participants when pitching both their personalities and their products.
“I agree,” he says. “I just want my team to be excited about their product and hungry for success.”
Vanderpump will appear alongside Ramsay in the second installment of “Food Stars,” where the pair will search for the next great food and beverage entrepreneur.
In a new twist, contestants will pitch their products, services or business plans to influential people who will then handpick who will join each team. The survivors of the ensuing “business boot camp” will win a $250,000 prize to invest in their companies.
“Obviously, this is a reality show, but the competition part of it and the business side of it was certainly something that I'm not used to in real life,” Vanderpump said about filming the show on Page Six's podcast “Virtual Reali-Tea.” Told.
The reality star, who has appeared in countless unscripted series highlighting her storied career in the hospitality industry, including “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,'' “Vanderpump Rules,'' and “Vanderpump Villa,'' one day… talk about his work. -The foundation of her daily life was in her “wheelhouse.”

“But doing the show was definitely different…some of the challenges were quite difficult,” she admits.
“It was marketing the food, creating a unique bar experience, rebranding, and so much more. There was a lot going on. There was also an emotional component for these young people because the stakes were high. $250,000 and the spotlight on your business is something worth fighting for.”
