IDAHO FALLS (Idaho Capital Sun) – The Idaho Democratic Party will hold presidential candidate caucuses across the Gem State on Thursday, May 23rd from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
President Joe Biden has already secured the Democratic presidential nomination, but six candidates will appear on the ballot in Idaho's caucuses today.
- Biden
- David Olscamp
- Jason Palmer
- Armando Perez Cerrato
- Dean Phillips
- Marianne Williamson
Idaho Democrats will also be voting on delegates to the party's state convention, which begins June 22.
Today's presidential candidate rally is separate from Tuesday's primary election, in which no presidential candidates participated. The Idaho Republican Party's presidential nomination convention has already been held on March 2nd.
A list of Democratic caucus locations can be found on the Idaho Democratic Party's website. Party officials previously told the Idaho Capital Sun that voters must attend the caucus site in the county where they are registered to vote. In counties with multiple caucus sites, voters can choose any caucus site within the county. Voters who have already participated in another party's presidential caucus this year will not be able to participate in today's Democratic caucus.
The caucus will run from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. local time, and anyone who is in line at 8 p.m. will be able to vote, Jared DeLuff, executive director of the Idaho Democratic Party, said earlier this month.
Voting day for the presidential election and the Idaho general election is November 5th.
