Virginia State Police believe a child porn suspect may have posed as a private cheerleading coach to lure girls.
Investigators arrested 38-year-old Jason Frageir in February as he was leaving the country at Orlando International Airport, police said. He faces 10 felonies related to child pornography following an investigation by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, Virginia State Police, and the Internet Children's Crimes Task Force.
According to the criminal complaint, Fragale uploaded several images of what appeared to be child pornography to the messaging app Kik, and also described himself as a pedophile, sexually assaulting children and commenting that he would like to do it again.
Police said the suspect operated the Crimson All-Star Cheerleading Club out of an office in Reston Town Center and also used an alias.
“As far as we know, he created a business card under the pseudonym 'Jason Mariani' and also wrote 'USA Cheer' on it,” said Virginia State Police Special Agent in Charge Mike Block.
Records show the company was registered in Virginia but is now out of business and no longer has an office in Reston Town Center.
Police are investigating whether the business was originally legal or whether it was just a ploy to lure young women.
“He would have young girls come into his Reston office for cheerleading coaching, cheerleading modeling and cheerleading measurements,” Bullock said.
Fragale has not been charged in connection with the cheerleading business, but police say anyone who sees him under the false name of cheer coach should contact police.
“Talk to your child,” Block said. “If your child has had any interaction with this person, whether it's 'Jason Fragar' or 'Jason Mariani,' please come forward.”
Fragale, who has residences in Florida and Leesburg, was extradited to Loudoun County and is scheduled to appear in court in July.
