The 77th Cannes Film Festival brought red carpet drama with celebrities like singer Kelly Rowland and Dominican Republic star Maciel Taveras, but there was also plenty of eye-catching fashion gracing the south of France.
This year's 11-day festival, which ended on May 25, saw stories featuring female protagonists take home big prizes. Filmmaker Sean Baker won the Palme d'Or for “Anora,” making him the first American to win the festival's top prize since Terrence Malick won in 2011 for “The Tree of Life.”
The Grand Prix, the festival's second highest award, went to “All We Imagine as Light,” directed by India's Payal Kapadia. The jury also expanded the usual Best Actress category to honor Lily Gladstone for her “sisterly harmony” in “Emilia Pérez,” starring Zoe Saldana, Selena Gomez and Carla Sofia Gascón.

Best Dressed: Demi Moore in Armani Privé
Demi Moore wore a glittering red beaded dress by Armani Privé to the premiere of her film “Kinds of Kindness” on May 17. The dress featured stunning floral and circular embellishments. The 61-year-old actress completed her elegant look with ruby and diamond chandelier earrings by Chopard.
Of more than 6,700 voters, 43 percent chose the “Ghost” actress as this year's best dressed at Cannes 2024. She was up against the likes of Eva Longoria, Kelly Rowland, Emma Stone and Alessandra Ambrosio.
Earlier in May, Moore was named Chopard's “godmother” to honour this year's winners of the Chopard Trophy, which is awarded to two up-and-coming young actors.
“I feel so blessed to have been chosen to be the godmother to these two extraordinary talents,” she said. peopleShe joked that in the US, “being a godmother means you have no responsibilities,” adding that you “can give your child candy, toys, things that parents wouldn't allow.”
Runner-up: Eva Longoria (Elie Saab)
Eva Longoria appeared at the premiere screening of “Kinds of Kindness” on May 17th. Yahoo Canada The 49-year-old actress was named the second most fashionable celebrity at Cannes this year, and she looked stunning in a sparkling Elie Saab dress that featured a plunging neckline and a dramatic train.
In the right light, the reflections off the silver of the dress made it appear a soft pastel pink, which Longoria paired with a sparkling Pasquale Bruni necklace featuring morganite, white and grey diamonds.
Worst Dressed: Bella Hadid in Saint Laurent
More than 5,700 people Yahoo Canada Readers, Bella Hadid's brown sheer halter midi dress was not appropriate for the Cannes red carpet in 2024. The supermodel wore a Saint Laurent dress to the premiere of “The Apprentice” on May 20, joining the nipple-baring fashion trend.
When compared to Coco Rocha, Margaret Qualley, Maria Bakalova and Julianne Moore, Hadid's look was voters' worst look.
The 27-year-old's look was designed by Saint Laurent creative director Anthony Vaccarello and is part of the fashion house's Winter 2024 collection. cosmopolitanIt was a departure from the star's recent style, which has focused on vintage and archival pieces.
Runner-up: Robert Ng's Coco Rocha

Twenty percent of Yahoo Canada voters thought the 35-year-old Toronto native was the worst dressed. The dress was part of Wang's Summer 2024 collection and was accessorized with a large diamond necklace and matching ring.
