On Monday, May 27, Jewish Voice for Peace, described as the world's largest progressive Jewish anti-Zionist organization, shared photos and details showing the tent massacre in Rafah. The organization's official Instagram account wrote in a post:
“Last night, during the tent massacre in Rafah, Palestinians were unable to find the bodies of their injured family members or those killed by Israeli forces. They had only mobile phone flashlights to search. Parents were collecting the bodies of their children with their bare hands. Palestinians were trying to put out the fires using sand as the Israeli government had cut off the water supply.”
The caption continues: “Two million people live in Gaza. Its area is roughly the same as Philadelphia, but its population is one-third more than that city. Its most densely populated area, the municipality that includes Gaza City, has roughly ten times the population of Philadelphia's most populous zip code. Gaza has been in darkness for months.”
Now, more than ever, prominent figures in the LGBTQ+ community are using their platforms to voice their support for Palestine and respond to the recent massacre in Rafah.
