I'm sure most of you have seen the video of the idiot who tries to tell Kylie Kelsey that she can never enter Margate again because she didn't take a picture with him at a restaurant. If you haven't seen it yet, here is all the information you need to know.
There are very few situations these days where everyone ultimately agrees, but I'm pretty sure 100% of the world's population can agree that the woman here getting mad at Kylie Kelsey is a total asshole, it's hard not to agree.
I do not condone this behavior in any way, but this motherfucker is just a product of modern society. There are people out there who would rather take a 5 second photo and post it to social media than spend 5 minutes actually talking to a celebrity. Style over content, quantity over quality. This motherfucker doesn't care about Kylie Kelsey, he just wants to take a quick photo so he can get a few dozen likes on Instagram that night. This caption alone will make you want to take a nap on the AC highway.
I don't understand autograph culture. I get that it's a way to make your “I actually met this person briefly” story seem more authentic, but I'd rather ejaculate my penis than ask for an autograph. There seems to be a certain shamelessness required to utter the words, “Hey, can you sign this?” And asking a celebrity for a photo when you see them in public seems even more impersonal than asking for an autograph.
I'm not saying you shouldn't ask for photos. It's a good way to lock away memories until your phone gets wet at the beach or you run out of storage and haven't backed up your iCloud in years. But you need to spend some time with the celebrity before you even consider asking for a photo. There needs to be some kind of legitimate interaction. If this woman had been at a bar with Kylie and Jason Kelsey and they were having a blast all night and treating them like any other person sitting with them at the bar, she would have had no qualms about taking a quick photo at the end of the night. But what if you act like a trophy hunter catching a celebrity in the wild in the Serengeti and asking for a photo just because you happen to be having dinner at the same restaurant? You deserve to be publicly humiliated.
Anyway, today's blog is about my dad screaming at the clouds. The moral of the story is that the world would be a better place if more people felt shame. Hang in there, birds.
