As the November election approaches, many prominent figures are voicing their support for either Donald Trump or Joe Biden, while an increasing number are backing independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
Kennedy, the son of former Senator Robert F. Kennedy and nephew of former President John F. Kennedy, both of whom were assassinated in the 1960s, has become well-known in recent years for his outspoken anti-vaccine stance.
The 70-year-old lawyer had sought to challenge Joe Biden for the 2024 Democratic presidential nomination but withdrew from the race and declared he would run as an independent in October 2023.
Many consider Kennedy a controversial choice given his growing anti-vaccine stance and reported support for conspiracy theories, including unfounded beliefs that COVID-19 targets certain races, that the 2004 presidential election was stolen through voter fraud and that mass shootings are linked to prescription drugs.
As more and more celebrities came to support Kennedy, Newsweek We've compiled a list of them.

Jenny McCarthy and Donnie Wahlberg
On Saturday, former New Kids on the Block star Donnie Wahlberg and his wife, actress Jenny McCarthy, publicly supported Kennedy on social media.
In a video posted to Instagram, McCarthy said he “endorses Bobby for president.”
“Our dear friend Bobby,” Wahlberg interjected, before the two yelled, “Good luck, Bobby!”
Rob Schneider
In 2023, actor and comedian Schneider endorsed Kennedy in the 2024 Democratic presidential primary. Then in April of this year, Schneider Fox & Friends First To explain why he supported an independent presidential candidate.
Schneider said healthcare was one of his top priorities: “We spend five times as much as Europe on healthcare, and the outcomes are much worse. We can't have 60 percent of the US population and 54 percent of our children being unhealthy. This should be the biggest news story for you in the media. The fact that over 50 percent of children have a chronic disease is a statistic from 10, 12 years ago. So we have to get people healthy.”
He added: “[Kenny is] It's about talking about things that really matter.”
Schneider also mentioned the possibility of a rematch between President Biden and former President Trump, saying people are tired of being offered the same thing.
Alicia Silverstone
Alicia Silverstone revealed in an Instagram post on June 6, 2023 that she canceled her Democratic registration in 2022 and registered as an independent voter.
She explained that she had done so because she was “deeply disappointed in our political leadership on all fronts.” Ignorant Starr pointed to “division,” “lies,” and “profiteering at the expense of the people and public health.”
“But @robertfkennedyjr gives me hope,” she wrote. “This man excites me about the possibility of truth and justice. He gives hope to men and women, young and old, to trust our government again. RFK Jr. is a man we can be inspired by and proud to call our president.”
“Bobby is a true leader. He loves our country deeply and is our bravest warrior. He fights for all mothers and children. He fights for planet Earth, fairness and freedom. He is someone who can bring together the divided nation. He is a walking history book and a passionate, loving human being who has zero tolerance for corruption or bullying.
“I love his vision of peace, unity and justice for all. I was inspired by his commitment to civil rights, workers' rights and children's health. We need a leader who will solve poverty, pollution and inequality and stop war. Bobby is that leader.”
Silverstone ended her post by encouraging people who feel disenfranchised by the government to hear Kennedy speak, and said she has worked with him on children's health and the environment for “over 15 years.”
She added, “I love Bobby!! He's such an amazing guy. If you want to learn more, go to Kennedy24.com and learn more about this amazing leader.”
Kevin Spacey
On May 6, Oscar-winning actor Kevin Spacey reposted on social media a promotional video for the Kennedy presidential campaign narrated by actor Woody Harrelson, calling Kennedy a “great fighter for justice” and a “loyal friend.”
“There is so much to learn from this man. When the world turned its back on me, Bobby stood by me. [prayer emoji]Spacey wrote on X (formerly Twitter) about the sexual misconduct charges he was acquitted of in court.
“He is an incredible warrior who fights for justice and a loyal friend who is not afraid to stand up for what he believes in.”
Narrating the video, Harrelson denied endorsing Kennedy.
“Bobby is a personal friend,” he told USA Today through a representative. “I'm an anarchist and I don't support candidates of either party.”
Cheryl Hines
Starring Cheryl Hines Curb Your Enthusiasmhas been married to the independent candidate since 2014. She has publicly supported her husband, attending his various fundraisers and rallies.
While Hines supports Kennedy's political goals, she doesn't agree with all of his views. On January 23, Kennedy spoke at an anti-vaccination rally, likening the push for vaccinations to the Nazi regime.
“Even in Hitler's Germany it was possible to cross the Alps into Switzerland or hide in an attic like Anne Frank. Today we are putting in place a system where no one can escape or hide,” he said.
After the video of the speech went viral online, Hines wrote to X, “My husband's opinions do not reflect my own. We love each other but we differ on many current issues.”
Jessica Sutta
Jessica Sutta, a former member of the Pussycat Dolls, has been supporting Kennedy and his running mate, Nicole Shanahan, in various social media posts in recent months, and has also spoken at their get-out-the-vote rallies.
In an Instagram post in March, Sutta explained that she got into politics “until my health was taken from me”. She was diagnosed with vaccine-induced lupus, which she claimed taught her to “stand up for what is right for humanity”.
Her caption continued: “Sorry to disappoint you but I’m not backing down. [sic] I didn't feel great yesterday because my body was having a lupus attack, but I'm glad my soul was able to leave. [sic] This will go down in history. Proud to know @theangiestanton did something amazing yesterday!! Nicole Shanahan would be the perfect VP. Her goal is to end the chronic disease epidemic among our youth. Let's go!”
Pierce Brosnan
Pierce Brosnan himself has not said anything publicly, but a photo of him alongside Kennedy was uploaded to X on September 22, 2023.
Mr Kennedy posted a photo of himself and the film star with the caption: “Two Irish guys at a pro-Kennedy fundraiser at Point Dume last night.”
Eric Clapton
In September 2023, Eric Clapton raised $2.2 million for Kennedy at a private fundraiser. According to a statement from the Kennedy campaign, the event raised $1 million for the campaign and $1.2 million for a super political action committee supporting him.
Tickets for the event, which features live performances by Grammy Award-winning musicians, range from $3,300 to $6,600.
“Join Eric Clapton and me in LA for a special campaign fundraiser and private musical performance!,” Kennedy posted to X in August 2023.
Aaron Rodgers
There had previously been rumors that NFL veteran Aaron Rodgers might be selected as the independent presidential candidate's running mate. Kennedy ultimately chose Shanahan, but Rodgers explained how he felt about the possibility of being the running mate in an interview with Tucker Carlson.
“I'm [Donald Trump] “He had four years to do it, but he didn't drain the swamp,” Rogers said. “And I think it's very possible that he was just scared by what he learned in prison.”
“But that's why I was interested when Bobby came to me and said, 'Would you like to be my running mate?' I said, 'Are you serious? I'm a shitty football player.' But I love this country and I want to be a part of bringing it back to what it was.”
Rodgers, who led the Green Bay Packers to a Super Bowl victory in 2011, told Carlson he considered taking the position. “Yeah, I thought about it. I love Bobby, so of course I thought about it. I just wanted to hear what he had to say about it.”
Mr. Rogers continues to publicly support Mr. Kennedy.
Jeremy Piven
Jeremy Piven is EntouragePiven appeared as a surprise guest at Kennedy's comedy fundraiser “A Night of Laughter With RFK Jr. & Friends” in downtown Los Angeles in February. Onstage, Piven likened white men to Bitcoin.
