Celebrities seem to be becoming more and more open about plastic surgery, but one expert doesn't think it's necessarily a good idea.
Celebrity plastic surgeon Dr Jason Champagne has warned stars not to be too open about the plastic surgery they've had, fearing it could influence younger fans.
There's a trend among celebrities to talk openly about plastic surgery, with stars such as Khloe Kardashian and Cameron Diaz saying they've had surgery, and while this may help break down taboos, Dr Champagne worries it could encourage young fans to copy their favourite stars.
Speaking exclusively to the Mirror, he explained: “I think it's a double-edged sword to be honest. I think the younger generation, particularly those in their teens and early 20s, can easily be influenced by social media in how they view things.”

“So I think we have to be really careful about how aggressive we are when talking about certain trends, because in my professional opinion, I think the trends of filler injections and surgical procedures have been overdone.”
He continued: “I think this is kind of dangerous territory, and if you're really promoting something like this, you have to be conscious of who's watching it and who might be affected.”
He warned that certain trends could be “harmful” to young people and even have “lifelong negative effects on appearance”, but he believes promoting “natural beauty” is fine.
He explained: “I focus on natural enhancements, making small changes to enhance the appearance, but without making it look like you've had plastic surgery or a lot of surgery.”
“I think that's the approach to facial plastic surgery in general: It's not about overdoing it, but about maintaining the look and keeping your skin healthier and more youthful as you age.”
Dr. Champagne added that her goal is to make her patients “look good and feel good,” adding, “I always approach my patients in a more natural way, thinking about how I can beautify them in a natural way and help them look like themselves but with a more youthful appearance.”
