Love Island's manly prankster Chris Taylor says he'd swap his swimsuit for khaki trousers if he were to appear on I'm a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!. Since his breakthrough in 2019, the Love Island alumnus, 33, has caused quite a stir in the world of reality TV and is currently set to appear on the next series of Celebs Go Dating after appearing on the 2023 series of Love Island: All-Stars.
The actor, who appeared in the recent Barbie film, didn't find love during his rollercoaster of emotions villa experience with Arabella Chi, but it hasn't put him off reality TV completely, and he recently said he would like to take on more challenging shows like “I'm A Celebrity” and “Celebrity SAS”.
He will also be joining as a panellist on this year's edition of Love Island, teaming up with Sam Thompson, Indya Pollack and Amy Hart for a spin-off show from the series.
Chris, who has teamed up with McDonald's to promote its latest Surprise Fry campaign, told the Daily Star that he has spoken to ITV bosses about the possibility of heading to Australia. “I'd love to be on I'm A Celeb.” Chris confirmed there have been further discussions about his possible involvement, saying: “I've had discussions with them and I'll definitely do it at some point when I'm ready.”
He also admitted he is open to offers from the likes of Strictly Come Dancing and Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins.
He said: “I've done things like Strictly and Dancing on Ice – I can skate but I can't dance, so I'm up for the challenge. The thought of SAS scares me but if they let me do it then I'd do it.”
However, he has dashed hopes of returning to Love Island, despite rumours that Love Island: All Stars will reprise its role in 2025. He admitted: “I'm open to trying different things but I don't know if I could do Love Island again. I don't think I have that range left in me anymore. But I do want to settle down and I hope I can find someone on Celebs Go Dating but I can't do that.”
Reflecting on life since leaving Villa, Chris revealed he had spoken to ITV bosses about returning: “I actually met with a couple of executives from ITV when the season finished. [All Stars].
“And then one of the bigwigs said to me, 'Season 2 is going to happen. We're just waiting to see if they'll recommission it with All Stars,' and he wagged his eyebrows at me.”
But he said his position on the possibility of a third stay at the villa was clear: “And I said, 'No way, no way, I'm never doing it again,'” he said. “To begin with I was quite against it and really didn't want to do it, but then as I spoke to him my opinion gradually changed.”
