Cheryl Burke has some advice for celebrities appearing on the dance reality TV show Dancing with the Stars. The professional dancer opened up about relationships that developed while filming the show. Speaking to People senior editor Dave Quinn, the TV host claimed that feelings can develop on set, which is why it's best for contestants to “stay single.”
Burke further explained that the relationship between a dancer and a partner is very fragile: according to the model, they either love each other or they hate each other.

During the interview, Cheryl Burke opened up about how DWTS relationships are like arranged marriages: “It's an arranged marriage… and it's black and white. You either love each other or you really, really hate each other.” The former DWTS contestant claimed that spending so much time together is one of the reasons why resentment can build up between celebs and their dance partners.

The TV star said participants have to be vulnerable with their partners. “It's a very intimate relationship and you have to be with that person. You better at least try to make it work,” she said.
She added, “It makes you intimate in so many ways. These celebrities are so vulnerable because they have to strip everything off to be successful. Is that all? I bet most married celebrities have never done that with their partners.”
As the conversation ended, Burke said, “If you're going to be on Dancing with the Stars, stay single. That's all I'm saying.”
