Tomorrow is Best Friends Day, and in honor of the holiday, we've selected some of Black male celebrity friendships.
Unfortunately, many men have no close friends outside of their partners. The term “friendship recession,” coined in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, proves how difficult it is for men to make friends. In a 2021 survey, less than half of men said they were dissatisfied with the number of friends they had, and 15% said they had no close friends.
But some rare friendships, like those between Will Smith and Martin Lawrence, Giancarlo Esposito and Spike Lee, Magic Johnson and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, stand the test of time. Scroll down to see some of our favorite Black male celebrity friendships.
