This weekend, golf enthusiasts will tee off alongside some of their favourite celebrities at the annual BMW Charity Pro-Am.
Carolina Country Club in Spartanburg and Thornblade Club in Greer will host the tournament where professional and amateur golfers will raise money for eight causes.
The activities will take place from Thursday 6th June to Sunday 9th June.
The highlight of Thursday night will be American Idol season 11 winner Phillip Phillips appearing at a golf event on June 6 in downtown Spartanburg.
“We are excited to have the BMW Charity Pro-Am presented by TD SYNNEX return to Spartanburg and look forward to welcoming spectators to Carolina Country Club and the Thornblade Club in Greer,” said Bob Stegner, president of South Carolina Charities, Inc. “The free Thursday night concert in Morgan Square will raise funds and awareness for Upstate charities while also being a fun opportunity to bring the Spartanburg community together.”
What you need to know about the BMW Charity Pro-Am Race
The event has become a staple community event, showcasing the best talent in sports while raising funds for charity. Since 2001, the BMW Charity Pro-Am has donated approximately $16 million to Upstate nonprofit organizations.
Carolina Country Club in Spartanburg (2355 Carolina Country Club Road) and Thornblade Club in Greer (1275 Thornblade Blvd.) will host the events June 6 through June 9 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Tickets can be purchased via the BMW Charity website.
Tournaments will be held exclusively at the Thornblade Club from June 7 onwards.
Proceeds from the 2024 BMW Charity Pro-Am will be donated to the following eight charities:
- Folds of Honor Palmetto State Chapter
- Friends of the Reedy River
- Gibbs Cancer Center and Research Institute
- Hispanic Alliance
- Spartanburg Meals on Wheels
- Connecting with local cancer
- PAL: Play. Defend. Live Well Spartanburg
- Upstate Warrior Solutions
The Pro-Am tournament will feature 160 Korn Ferry Tour teams, 160 amateur teams and five new celebrities. The new celebrities include Bryce Butler, Ryan Leaf, Phillip Phillips, Roger Steele and Vince Young.

Guests can park at the following locations: Thornblade Club – Michelin North America, 1 Parkway South, Greenville. The Carolina Country Club – Dorman High School, 1050 Cavalier Way, Roebuck. Shuttle buses run to and from the course entrance every 15 minutes.
If any weather delays occur, spectators can check the Korn Ferry Tour website or official app, and updates will also be communicated on the BMW Charity Pro-Am social media accounts.
