When it came to celebrity fashion last week, Canadians were pretty opinionated about the outfits of their biggest stars. Yahoo Canada Readers shared their opinions on red carpet and street fashion, with polls showing a strong consensus that one singer's latest fashion choices are off the mark.
Additionally, voters were quite divided on some of the stars who made this week's best and worst dressed lists. For example, “Purple Hearts” actress Sofia Carson was named one of this week's worst dressed after wearing a feathered Oscar de la Renta gown to the gala. 57% of voters thought the 31-year-old was badly dressed, while 21% were neutral and 22% were opposed.
Readers were similarly divided on some of the stars featured on this week's best-dressed celebrities list. Bridgerton star Nicola Coughlan wore a gorgeous couture look by Sara Murad at the Toronto premiere of the second half of season three of the Netflix series. 51 percent thought the look was bad, 19 percent were mixed, and 30 percent voted that the 37-year-old looked lovely.

Best Dressed Winner: Katy Perry
Katy Perry brought orange accents to the South of France, and her glamorous look was a huge hit with fans. Competing this week against looks from the likes of Jodie Turner-Smith, Sarayu Bleu, Nicola Coughlan and Chanel Iman, the 39-year-old garnered over 48% of the 1,600+ voters.
The “California Gurls” artist was tapped by one of India's wealthiest families to help facilitate the upcoming wedding of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant. The couple booked a luxury cruise that departed from Italy and landed in France, with Perry performing her hits in Cannes. The concert is reportedly worth more than $6 million.
Soaking up the European heat, Perry looked stunning in a sheer orange dress with large sequins from LaPointe's Pre-Fall 2024 collection. She paired the dress with a bright orange bikini and matching Aquazzura leather sandal heels, and let her dark wavy hair cascade over one shoulder.
Perry won the best dressed award this week, but her look received mixed reviews. Yahoo Canada In a second poll of 200 readers, 46% did not like Perry's look, 13% were neutral, and 41% of voters liked the outfit.
Best Dressed Runner-Up: Chanel Iman
Chanel Iman's vibrant Miami Swim Week look came in second in last week's Best Dressed Celebrity poll. The 33-year-old model garnered 23 percent of the vote in a gorgeous multicolored asymmetrical dress by Nigerian-Canadian designer Andrea Iyamah.
Iman wore the Tuli Mesh Dress to the brand's poolside party in collaboration with Ciroc Limonata at Soho Beach House in Miami on June 1. The dress featured a thigh-high slit and a matching long sleeve on one side, with a wrap around the arm for maximum drama.
Iyama said Yahoo Canada The designs selected for the event were chosen for both their beauty and craftsmanship: “These designs aim to make a statement, yet be comfortable and functional. … Swimwear can inspire bold confidence when made to move.”
The majority Yahoo Canada Readers who voted for Iman's outfit agreed that the look was amazing: In a second round of voting, 65% of the more than 240 voters said they loved the outfit, compared to 17% who expressed a neutral opinion and 18% who were not fans.
Worst Dressed Award Winner: Tinashe
Unfortunately, Tinashe's colorful weekday party look didn't sit well with the majority of our readers: Of the more than 1,200 votes in the survey, 74 percent voted the “Nasty” singer's outfit as the worst, comparing it to looks from Emily Ratajkowski, Sofia Carson, Emily Deschanel and Olivia Cooke.
The 31-year-old singer's outfit included a Spotify-branded red, yellow and blue FC Barcelona Hoodie Baby jersey with long sleeves and black polka dots, which she paired with red low-rise micro mini shorts, silver zip-up boots with bag handles and a short, static-like crimson wig.
The artist, who is currently enjoying something of a resurgence, was spotted wearing the outfit as she left Craig's restaurant in West Hollywood, Calif. That night, she was caught up in a gag from DJ Alex Chapman and Playboy.
In a secondary survey, over 260 voters strongly stated that the look was not good, with 86% leaning towards the “bad” side. Outside of that, 8% were neutral and 6% liked the look.
Runner-up for Worst Dressed: Emily Ratajkowski
meanwhile Yahoo Canada Readers were pretty determined to choose this week's worst-dressed celebrity, but a few people weren't a fan of Emily Ratajkowski's 2000s-inspired style, with 12 percent of over 1,200 people choosing the model as the worst-dressed celebrity.
The 33-year-old wore a plunging black silk dress and red trousers to the Girls Talk Fundraising Gala in London. She accessorized with a thin black scarf around her neck, open-toed black heels and a silver metal Rabanne handbag. She also wore two “divorce rings,” a hot new fashion trend.
In the second poll, the majority of 250 voters agreed that the style was not good. In this poll, 65 percent of people voted that they did not like the style, 14 percent were in between, and 21 percent liked the model's outfit.
