Nara Chandrababu Naidu, who led the Telugu Desam Party-Bharatiya Janata Party-Janasena alliance to a landslide victory in the Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections, will be sworn in as the state's Chief Minister on Wednesday, June 12. A grand ceremony will be held at Kesarapalli IT Park near Gannavaram Airport on the outskirts of Vijayawada at around 11.27 am.
The star-studded ceremony is expected to feature an array of guests, including several South actors. Reports suggest that Chiranjeevi, his son Ram Charan and Allu Arjun are likely to attend the swearing-in ceremony. Notably, Jana Sena leader Pawan Kalyan, who is also a contender for the Deputy Chief Minister's post, is Chiranjeevi's youngest brother. Ram Charan and Allu Arjun are Kalyan's nephews.
According to media reports, other big stars who are likely to attend the swearing-in ceremony include Rajinikanth and his wife Mohan Babu. Chandrababu Naidu's nephew Jr NTR has also been invited to the grand event.
Besides celebrities, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and JP Nadda, who are NDA allies of Chandrababu Naidu, are also expected to attend the swearing-in ceremony.
Several state chief ministers, including Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, are also expected to attend the event.
The TDP also sent invitations to farmers who had donated land for the Amaravati capital project and those who were allegedly harassed under the previous YSR Congress government, news agency PTI reported.
Election Results
The NDA alliance comprising the TDP, BJP and Janasena Party won a landslide victory in the recently concluded simultaneous Lok Sabha and state assembly elections in the southern states.
In the state assembly elections, the NDA alliance won 164 out of 175 seats, of which the TDP won 135, Janasena 21 and the BJP 8. Meanwhile, in the Lok Sabha elections, the NDA alliance won 21 out of 35 seats.
