Maine Mendoza urged her followers to “stop” asking celebrities to remove their masks when posing for photos in public, citing health reasons.
The actress and presenter said on X (formerly Twitter) that celebrities don't just wear masks to avoid recognition, but also for safety reasons.
“I had the sudden idea to write this post: People need to stop asking people to remove their masks to take their photos. Some celebrities wear masks in public, and not just because they don't want to be recognised,” she said.
The “Eat Bulaga” host stressed that wearing a mask helps prevent the virus from spreading to others, since being sick makes it difficult to work.
“Some people choose to wear a mask because they are feeling unwell and want to avoid the risk of catching or spreading the virus. I always do my job well and always stay positive, family,” the actress added.

Mendoza recently walked the runway at TernoCon 2024 and during an interview said she had been suffering from a sinus infection for nearly a week.
“I've actually been suffering from the worst sinus infection ever and have been sneezing nonstop since last Wednesday, so I was worried it would get worse during the show,” she said.
“Anyway, I'm glad my allergies cooperated with me tonight, I didn't have to embarrass myself tonight,” she said, adding that she struggled with loose shoes during the fashion show.
Meanwhile, the TV personality had previously responded to a random article about a female TV presenter who was accused of being banned from a beauty clinic for her rude behaviour.
“Da Who [ang] Female show host yells out loud on Kalog [napakataray] “In real life,” the TikTok post reads, “the clinic owner said he banned the host from his business in order to hold his staff accountable.”
Mendoza seemed confused as to why people were tagging her in the comments section, replying, “Ako agad?”
