First appeared on FOX: President Biden's re-election campaign is trying to craft a narrative about former President Donald Trump's business experience as he prepares to woo leaders of the nation's top companies at an event with major corporate CEOs later Thursday.
Fox Business host Larry Kudlow is scheduled to interview Trump before nearly 100 CEOs at a high-profile business roundtable event in Washington, D.C., where he will likely try to win their support by highlighting his decades of experience leading major corporations with less than five months to go until the November election.
But the Biden team wants business leaders to see another side of Trump, one that is allegedly vindicated by that very experience.
Biden says it's 'disappointing' to receive criticism from battleground state Democratic candidates over rising gas prices plaguing voters
“Donald Trump can't even run a lemonade stand, so there's no way he can run a country. He's a con man, a crook and a failed businessman and president who has led America into economic ruin,” Biden campaign spokesman James Singer told Fox News Digital ahead of the event.
“Donald Trump's chaos has hurt workers, small businesses and families across America. The choice is clear: Joe Biden is creating a boom for all Americans with rising wages, more than 15 million new jobs and a booming stock market, building an economy for the future,” he added.
The campaign pointed to the bankruptcies of Trump's casinos and hotels, as well as the failure of many of his other ventures, including airlines and universities, and cited some experts to say that Trump's proposed economic and inflation policies would harm the American people.

In making the case for Biden as an alternative to Trump, his campaign noted that unemployment is near historic lows and while wages are rising, real wages remain lower than when the president took office.
During his campaign, he touted inflation, which has fallen from record highs when he first took office, and a drop in the nation's violent crime rate. He also touted the creation of more than 15 million jobs, many of which were created under Trump's administration and have since re-emerged as businesses reopened after the pandemic.
Trump campaign spokeswoman Caroline Leavitt hit back at the attack, slamming the Biden campaign's “continued denial that inflation is hurting the American people, proving how out of touch with reality Joe Biden is.”
“Biden has only made the cost of living higher and offered no solutions to lower the cost of living. In fact, he's doubled down on his plans to raise taxes and take more money from working families,” she told Fox.

“President Trump built a multi-billion dollar real estate empire and employed thousands of people before delivering the best economy in history as the 45th President of the United States – with no inflation, cheap gasoline, and the lowest unemployment, interest and mortgage rates on record,” she said.

“President Trump is the businessman and strong leader we need to end Joe Biden's economic nightmare and make America prosperous again. And that's one of the many reasons why President Trump is dominating the polls over Joe Biden,” she added.
Axios reported that White House Chief of Staff Jeff Zients is scheduled to speak at the roundtable on Biden's behalf, as Biden leaves for Italy on Wednesday to attend the G7 summit.
